Eugene B. Katz, a Managing Director of Hovde Financial, joined the firm in 1997.

His responsibilities at Hovde include the structuring and negotiating of merger and acquisition transactions, valuations of banks and thrifts, the identification and implementation of strategic alternatives for financial institutions and the financial analysis performed during the merger and acquisition process. Mr. Katz has served institutions in structuring and negotiating mergers, acquisitions, sale assignments, branch acquisitions and divestitures, and raising capital. He is actively involved in growing the firm’s international client practice with cross-border transactions emanating to and from the U.S. Mr. Katz has had a number of public speech engagements and is often interviewed for industry publications.

Mr. Katz, a native of Russia, earned his undergraduate degree in Finance and Investments with a concentration in International Studies from Babson College in Wellesley, MA.  Mr. Katz is licensed with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority as a registered representative and holds the following licenses: Series 7 and 63.  He currently serves as a Director of Lifeway Foods, Inc. (Nasdaq: LWAY), a manufacturer of health food products located in in Morton Grove, IL and MRL Industries, Inc., a product design and manufacturing company located in in Itasca, IL. Mr. Katz previously served as Director of CenTrust Bank located in Northbrook, IL.
